Fire crews arrived at the scene and immediately began extinguishing the fire.

"Before their arrival, eyewitnesses helped a woman to evacuate from a second-floor window using a ladder. According to them, there was a child left in the house. The units of the gas and smoke protection service were sent to investigate, but, unfortunately, during the extinguishing, the body of a child born in 2024 was discovered," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message.

It is noted that at the time of the fire, the woman was sleeping on the second floor, and her child was on the first floor.

On April 1, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia approved the first set of rules in the field of fire safety for five-storey apartment buildings using wooden structures, Moscow 24 reports.
