Russian figure skaters have found themselves in a desperate situation with admission to international tournaments due to the decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) to postpone the consideration of athletes' admission. This was announced on April 2 by Honored coach of the USSR Tatiana Tarasova.

"We are in a desperate situation. We are completely dependent on them. God forbid that you get into such a terrible addiction in the business that you love. The season starts in June, new rules, new music. How come? Are they pests at all?", Tarasova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the coach, the Russian figure skaters have no choice but to wait for the appointed date for a decision on admission.

Tarasova said on February 23 that Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik, competing in men's single skating, performed better than other compatriots at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. Humennik took sixth place in men's figure skating at the 2026 Olympics. At the same time, the athlete showed the 12th result in the short program.
