The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has denied reports about police inspections of citizens' phones for the use of VPN services. This was reported on April 2 in the Telegram channel of the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the department.

"Such events are not carried out, citizens' phones are not checked for VPN or other applications," the message says.
