On April 4, at 21:00, viju+ Premiere channel will show Luc Besson's Gothic horror film "Dracula". One of the most unusual fantasy films of recent times will be shown on Russian television for the first time.

"Dracula" by the famous French director is not an ordinary film adaptation in our usual sense, but an author's interpretation of the legendary image, overgrown with many chilling myths.

In his original work, the classic of world cinema combined elements of vampire horror, Gothic drama, dark fantasy, psychological thriller and even partly biographical narrative.

The film begins in the 15th century and focuses on the rise of the mysterious and creepy Count Dracula. On the screen, he goes from the tragic loss of his beloved to becoming one of the most mysterious characters in European culture. His tragedy stretches back 400 years.…

The director explores the inner conflict of the hero, paying attention primarily to the emotional depth — and in this he is a recognized master. But the horror component, of course, remains: Besson also knows the art of playing on the emotions of the viewer brilliantly.

The main role was played by American actor Caleb Landry Jones, winner of the Cannes Film Festival prize for Best Actor, star of films by David Lynch, Martin McDonagh, John Michael McDonagh, Doug Lyman, Jordan Peele and many other famous directors. With Besson, they previously worked on the heartbreaking "Dogman", beloved by all connoisseurs of non-trivial dramas and action films.

Oscar—winning Christoph Waltz, the favorite of Quentin Tarantino and Guillermo del Toro, also starred in the film.
