Vechernyaya Moskva Media Holding launches large-scale renovation
Vechernyaya Moskva Media Holding is opening a new page in its history, presenting a large-scale update that will affect the design, content and format of the newspaper. These changes are intended to make the media holding's publications more modern, convenient and relevant to the dynamic rhythm of Moscow life.
"Our goal is to be not just a news source, but a reliable companion who lives at the same pace with his readers and offers exactly the information that is important at a particular moment," explained Georgy Rudnitsky, General Director of Editorial Office of the newspaper Vechernyaya Moskva.
The very first and significant innovation will be the unification of all printed products of the media holding into a single A3 format and the change in the navigation of publications under a single brand "Evening Moscow". A daily morning edition with key events and news of the city will be published with navigation — "MORNING". The evening edition, distributed three days a week in the metro — "EVENING" — will show the development of morning news and offer a selection of all the main city events of the day. The final issue of THE WEEK will combine major city events, interviews with famous people, and seven days of analysis for thoughtful family reading over the weekend.
"This is not just a unification of the names of all printed publications under a single brand "Evening Moscow", symbolizing the primacy and foundation, but also a complete visual transformation of the newspaper. We are not just changing the cover and content of publications, we are changing the philosophy. Newspapers will show the development of this or that information throughout the day. I am sure that Vechernyaya Moskva will be a companion for the residents of the capital from morning to evening and a guide for the whole week," Alexander Sharnaud Sharnaud, editor—in-chief of the Vechernyaya Moskva newspaper, comments on the updates.
From April 6, 2026, the editorial staff will present to readers an updated design layout with an emphasis on readability and easy navigation: modern layout of all publications, high-quality photographs and infographics, as well as clear color accents for different thematic blocks and new headings. The oldest city newspaper, founded on December 6, 1923 and repeatedly awarded with professional awards, begins a new stage in order to remain the most authoritative and sought-after source of information for residents of the capital.
