- REN TV will show the investigation "Black psychics: how not to become a victim?" on April 4
A multibillion-dollar shadow market for esoteric services has developed in Russia. According to experts, every year citizens spend up to two trillion rubles on magicians and fortune-tellers.
REN TV journalists conducted their own investigation, visiting the most famous psychics under the guise of ordinary clients. In a new documentary investigation, REN TV will show how the "black box office" of psychics and sorcerers is organized. Why aren't any of them working legally? Are magical rituals really able to help — or is it just a clever deception? And the main intrigue: was one of the "clairvoyants" able to figure out the journalist who came to them undercover?
Tarot cards, karma cleansing, and love spells are not just esoteric entertainment, but an entire industry. An hour of reception with an average psychic costs 30 thousand rubles, and the queue is for weeks in advance. The fees of media personalities, such as the winner of the "Battle of Psychics" Vladislav Cherevaty, reach half a million rubles for an hour-long consultation. And such "stars of astrology" as Angela Pearl flaunt the luxurious life of the "heavy luxury" level: business jets, expensive resorts, luxury cars. "Magic schools", closed clubs, telegram channels, thousands of "experts" - they all work outside the law, their incomes go into the shadows, bypassing taxes. How do they steal from Russians and why can't even State Duma deputies do anything about it?
Customers are willing to pay. Everyone is being dragged into this system.: from desperate housewives to big businessmen. A billionaire and a deputy from Donbass came to the "grandmother" for "cleaning up the business" and protection from drones, paid a penny — got love spells and a scandal. The girl on the show of the federal TV channel was told that her father had died — after a while it turned out that he was alive. A pensioner from Krasnodar was persuaded to rewrite her property, inspiring faith in "alien love" — it almost ended in suicide. And these are just some of the stories that will be discussed in the film. The journalists conducted an experiment and caught the "clairvoyants" in a lie: "magic" adapts to any request.
Why do people continue to believe in magic in the 21st century? Who is behind the multibillion-dollar illegal market of esoteric services? The answers are in the documentary investigation "Black Psychics: how not to become a victim?", which will be broadcast on REN TV on Saturday, April 4, at 16:55.
