President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived at the Dynamo Minsk hockey club training session to support the team that reached the quarterfinals of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). This was reported by the BelTA news Agency on April 2.
"Guys, thank you for the first round <...> I've already passed it on here through the bosses: if you need something to prepare for the second stage, you tell me. Medicine, massage therapists are good... In general, if you need something, say <...> I am ready to prepare with you in the off-season and do the amount of work that you will do," said Lukashenko.
The President of Belarus went out on the ice, where he and the hockey players held a short training session. In the end, he presented the athletes with honey, fresh bread and lard and promised to come to the team's games in Minsk.
On March 31, Lukashenko congratulated Pavel Bure, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, on his birthday. According to the president, Bure continues to develop and popularize the sport, using his experience and authority to protect the interests of hockey at the international level. In addition, the head of state recalled that the legendary striker was born in Minsk and still considers Belarus his second homeland.
