- Suspects of embezzlement of 10 million rubles from their fighters were detained in the Lipetsk region.
In the Lipetsk region, two suspects were detained for embezzling more than 10 million rubles from participants in a special military operation. This was announced on April 2 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"Two suspects of embezzlement of more than 10 million rubles from the participants of the SVO were detained by my colleagues from the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Lipetsk region. Currently, six victims of the actions of the defendants have been identified. These are residents of the Lipetsk, Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod regions and the Moscow region," the publication says in the MAX messenger.
According to the agency, from September 2024 to October 2025, the attackers were looking for single and unemployed citizens suitable for military service. They brought the selected candidates to the Lipetsk region and provided them with housing for several days. The accomplices persuaded the men to sign a contract and provided them with escort, including during the medical examination.
Under the pretext of saving money, they convinced the victims to transfer bank cards or provide access to a mobile bank, and the stolen funds were transferred to their accounts or cashed out. The illegal activities of the suspects were suppressed with the forceful support of the Rosgvardiya staff.
On March 15, the LizaAlert search and rescue squad reported that fraudsters, posing as volunteers of the squad, were contacting relatives of missing servicemen and allegedly offering assistance in their search. In such cases, representatives of the detachment advise relatives to contact the military commissariats, as well as the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, to obtain official information.
