The Moscow City Court has declared lawful an administrative fine to the writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) for violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent. This was announced on April 2 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

In October 2025, the writer was fined 40,000 rubles. At the same time, Ulitskaya did not agree with the punishment and appealed against it.

It was clarified that the writer was a respondent on information platforms provided by foreign agents and foreign media, and also opposed the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation added Ulitskaya to the register of foreign agents on March 1, 2024. A month earlier, the AST publishing house had also suspended the payment of royalties to the writer.
