Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly being introduced into the pet economy sector in China, from food production to daily pet care. This was reported on April 2 by the Xinhua news agency.

Thus, in the upstream manufacturing sector of the pet industry, AI transforms production processes, optimizes supply chain management, and helps enterprises achieve precision engineering and efficient production. To meet key needs such as nutritional balance and optimal palatability of feed, companies use big-data AI analytical models that analyze the nutritional needs of pets based on their breed, age, and physical condition.

"Using AI big data models, we can quickly analyze millions of feeding data and feedback on the condition of animals from owners. The development cycle has been reduced by almost 40%, and the product's compliance with needs has increased significantly," said the head of the development department of one of China's leading pet food companies.

According to him, relying on AI technology, the company has released functional products such as feed for aging animals and feed for specific breeds that have exceeded market expectations.

Thanks to AI, offline establishments such as pet stores and pet interaction clubs are also experiencing a resurgence. Thus, traditional stores are implementing intelligent diagnostic and marketing systems, creating visualized and intelligent spaces of integrated service.

In addition, AI technologies contribute to breakthroughs in veterinary medicine - several large veterinary models have now been put into practice in China. Relying on multimodal recognition technologies, they provide intelligent interpretation of X-rays and ultrasound images, automatic analysis of blood test results, and intelligent processing of medical records.

According to analysts, as noted in Xinhua, the deep integration of AI into the pet industry not only increases the operational efficiency of the entire chain and improves the quality of products and services, but also corresponds to current trends in science-based and thoughtful animal care.

On March 19, it was reported that the national standard GOST "Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems in healthcare. Terms and definitions. Classification" was first developed in Russia. It will help to maintain both the safety of patients in medical institutions and the high standard of medical services. This includes minimizing the risk of error or abuse by AI.
