- An educational program for working with clients in the financial market has been launched in Russia
The National Financial Association (NFA) and Sovcombank have launched the educational project "Professional standards of working with clients in the financial market" in a pilot mode. The Bank of Russia provided expert support to the initiative.
According to Sovcombank, the goal of the project is to set a new high—quality standard for training specialists who offer investment products and complex financial instruments to retail clients.
"We are interested in setting high standards of work and directing common efforts to protect the interests of the investor. This is the foundation of trust, without which the sustainable development of the entire Russian financial market is impossible," said Mikhail Autukhov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and Head of Sovcombank's corporate investment business.
The educational course is designed for four months, with a total of 120 academic hours. It consists of 12 modules. Participants of the program will learn how the financial market works, study the main issues of protecting clients' rights, analyze the specifics and risks of a wide range of instruments: stocks, bonds, structural products, derivatives and foreign securities.
Graduates will receive a certificate of advanced training, as well as the opportunity to complete an independent NFA remote certification, which will become a professional certificate.
"The NFA program and independent certification are a unique opportunity for professionals who want to work in the best financial institutions, to be involved in the community of highly qualified financial market professionals who create a trusting environment for clients and investors. The certificate confirms the high level of knowledge of a specialist, regardless of the place of residence, place of work and basic diploma," said Vasily Zablotsky, President of the NFA.
The participants of the pilot program were employees of Sovcombank. Due to the high interest, the number of seats on the first stream was increased from 70 to 90. The program will be scaled up in the future.
