The Kremlin has no information that Russian President Vladimir Putin has given any instructions to restrict the operation of VPN services in the country. This was stated at a briefing by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
"I don't know anything about such an assignment," Peskov said.
On the same day, the Russian Interior Ministry reported that information about police checking Russians' phones for the use of VPN services and messengers was unreliable and was being disseminated to increase social tension.
