Student teams will be involved in the construction of the Moscow – St. Petersburg high-speed railway

Student groups will be involved in the construction of the first high-speed railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The goal is to train young professionals and organize support for educational initiatives. Ivan Kolesnikov, Deputy Head of Russian Railways, told about this at the International Transport and Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg.

According to Kolesnikov, who cites 78.ru The HSR construction project is unique both technologically and in terms of attracting young professionals to large—scale national projects. He noted that the student teams will begin the active phase of participation in this project in August this year.

The Deputy Head of Russian Railways added that the assembly of four wagons has already been completed at Ural Locomotives. More than half of the project components are ready. Some of them have successfully passed the tests.

Earlier it was reported that since the end of 2025, the number of workers and equipment has increased during the construction of the Moscow—St. Petersburg high-speed railway. In September last year, it was reported that the Moscow —St. Petersburg high-speed rail project assumes the presence of 16 stations. Two of them will be technical — Tigoda in Novgorod and Gorki in Tver regions. The remaining 14 stops will become passenger stops. Trains will stop at such stations as Leningradsky Railway Station, Rizhskaya, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya, Zelenograd-Kryukovo, Vysokovo, Novaya Tver, Logovezh, Sadva, Vypolzovo, Valdai, Veliky Novgorod, Zharovskaya, Yuzhny and St. Petersburg Main.
