- Dmitriev called for the restoration of Nord Stream 2 at the expense of the EU and Britain
On April 2, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Presidential Envoy for Investment and Economic Cooperation, called on the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom to restore the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline at their own expense amid the critical situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the acute shortage of available energy resources.
"Atone for the guilt, reduce tension, restore Nord Stream 2 at your own expense," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to Dmitriev, Western bureaucrats face a difficult dilemma, as they actually "cannot get fuel" from alternative sources. Under the circumstances, the only rational way out for Europe may be to admit its mistakes.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 27 that the legal situation around the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines was difficult.
Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev told Izvestia on March 21 that three and a half years had passed since the Nord Stream bombings, but there were still no clear answers to the question of the perpetrators and customers of the attack.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
