Putin congratulates Lukashenko on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the Day of the Unity of the Peoples of these countries. The congratulatory message was published on April 2 on the official website of the Kremlin's press service.

"In the three decades that have passed since the signing of the Agreement on the Formation of the Community of Russia and Belarus, a lot has been done to develop mutually beneficial integration ties and fruitful bilateral cooperation," the message of greetings reads.

The equality of rights of citizens of the two countries is noted, as well as cooperation in many aspects of politics and the economy of Russia and Belarus, in particular, in macroeconomic, monetary and social policies, as well as in the fields of international activities, defense and security.

Putin expressed confidence in the implementation of all the plans outlined by the countries to meet the interests of both Russians and Belarusians.
