- The Russian Foreign Ministry called the fatal consequences of Berlin's departure from nuclear commitments
Moscow believes that Berlin is aware of the fatality of reneging on nuclear commitments. This was announced on April 2 by Oleg Tyapkin, Director of the Third European Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
"We are closely following the discussion in Germany on the nuclear issue through the prism of Germany's compliance with its obligations under the 2+4 treaty and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. We hope that Berlin is aware of the fatal consequences of abandoning them," Tyapkin said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The publication also notes that earlier French President Emmanuel Macron said that eight European states — Great Britain, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Sweden and Denmark — intend to join the so-called "advanced nuclear doctrine" of France.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 28 that Western European countries would be the first victims of nuclear blackmail from Ukraine. According to Zakharova, Kiev will not just "demand money and tools" from these countries, but dictate to them the conditions for the maintenance of its regime.
