Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces shared the details of the liberation of Boikovo in the Zaporozhye region

Units of the 64th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces shared the details of the liberation of the Boikovo settlement in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on April 2 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that during active offensive operations, Russian fighters broke through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and, as a result of the fighting, seized control of a fortified area of more than 5 square kilometers.

"We came in small groups of two or three people. They entered the open area <...> under constant drone attack (APU. - Ed.). <...> The enemy had strong points and dugouts in the forest belts. We broke through, cleared positions, eliminating machine gunners and UAV operators. The enemy tried to counterattack, but we stopped these attempts in a timely manner," said a stormtrooper with the call sign Smiley.

Often, Russian servicemen had to take the enemy by surprise during the cleansing of Ukrainian positions.

"We abruptly break out, open the door. The enemy did not expect it. He thought that we would be taken by surprise, that we would surrender. We started practicing. <...> One of them was standing with a machine gun, he didn't even lift the machine gun. He lost everything," explained the commander of the assault unit with the call sign Mazhur.

According to him, when entering Boikovo, the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers tried to launch fire strikes and surround the group of troops. However, fighters of the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) destroyed the Ukrainian militants with small arms.

During the liberation of the settlement, Russian fighters used various methods of disguise. In addition, they received the support of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) units.

"We went to the assault in small groups, competently used anti-drone capes and weather conditions. <...> I would like to note the air support separately: the UAV reconnaissance crew discovered an enemy control point for heavy drones of the Baba Yaga type. As a result of the operational actions, the enemy's crew and the warehouse with the devices were completely destroyed," said the sapper with the call sign Wrangel.

In addition to the liberation of Boikovo, the Russian Armed Forces managed to capture an AFU soldier.

The liberation of the settlement improved the tactical position of the Vostok group units and made it possible to expand the bridgehead for further offensive.

The units are developing new schemes for the use of FPV devices and restoring captured heavy copters of the enemy.

The day before, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the settlements of Boikovo and Verkhnyaya Pisarevka. The Vostok group of troops defeated formations of the mechanized, two assault, two airborne assault brigades and three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.
