Actor and director Sergei Bystritsky died at the age of 62. This was announced on April 1 by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.

"On April 1, 2026, at the age of 63, our friend and colleague, member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, actor, director Sergei Veniaminovich Bystritsky (1963-2026), died. <...> We offer our condolences to the family and friends," the Telegram channel says.

Bystritsky graduated from the acting department of VGIK in 1986, studying in the workshop of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova. At the same time, his film debut took place back in 1979, when he played one of the main roles in the film The Unfinished Lesson.

During his career, he starred in more than 40 projects, including "From the Life of Fyodor Kuzkin," "The Hunt for the Unicorn," "Daniel – Prince Galitsky," and "The Witches' Dungeon."

In addition to working in films, Bystritsky was engaged in acting and directing in dubbing. He voiced Matt Damon and Chandler Bing in the American sitcom Friends in several films.
