Moscow embankments began to prepare for the opening of summer navigation

The preparation of embankments for summer navigation has begun in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, April 1, by Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping Peter Biryukov.

According to him, the work started with the establishment of stable warm weather and will cover 82 embankments, including the central ones — Moskvoretskaya, Kremlevskaya, Krymskaya and others.

He noted that specialists will carry out cleaning, flushing and repairs: they will put in order the railings, access roads to the water and walking areas after the winter. Additional work is also planned in the summer — granite cleaning, partial replacement of cladding elements and parapets, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

In addition, the seams of the granite cladding will be reinforced in a number of places. Such work is carried out approximately once every five years to ensure safety and prevent the plates from shifting, Moscow 24 writes.
