Certification of the Russian-powered SJ-100 aircraft is scheduled for August.
The fully import-substituted SJ-100 passenger aircraft is scheduled to be certified in August 2026. This became known on April 1 from the presentation of Anton Alikhanov, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, presented at the International Transport and Logistics Forum.
According to RIA Novosti, the certification of the aircraft with the domestic PD-8 engine is scheduled for August this year. It is specified that the final dates will depend on the progress of the tests and possible comments from the inspection authorities. Four machines are currently participating in the certification tests.
The Minister's presentation also contains information on the progress of work on other aircraft construction projects. In particular, in December 2026, it is planned to complete the certification of the VK-800 engine and the AV-901 propeller, designed for the Baikal light multipurpose aircraft.
Dmitry Yadrov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, announced on March 20 that certification for the production of domestic IL-114-300, MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft would take place during this year. It was noted that all tests on the IL-114-300 have been completed, and the certificate is scheduled to be issued in May-June of this year. At the same time, engine certification for the Sukhoi Superjet (SJ-100) PD-8 is expected in May-June of this year.
