On average, from March 2025 to February 2026, expedition vehicles in Russia fell in price by about 13%, which is more than the market average. At the same time, some rare copies or cars in very good condition continue to keep the price down. <url> experts told Izvestia about this on April 2.

Expeditionary vehicles are vehicles with characteristic attributes for off—road driving. They are distinguished by reinforced suspension, the presence of winches, large-diameter wheels, snorkels and body protection.

In remote regions, the cost of prepared SUVs is higher, as they are also bought there for daily use, experts said. For example, a used Land Rover Defender in Moscow sells for 6-8.5 million rubles, and in the Kamchatka Territory and Yakutia the cost can reach up to 10 million rubles.

According to experts, expedition SUVs account for about 0.6% of all sales ads on the platform, and in some regions with particularly harsh climates, such as the Kamchatka Territory, Yakutia, Magadan Region, Altai and Primorye, this share reaches 3%.

Like regular cars, expedition SUVs take an average of two to five months to find buyers, although the most expensive and unusual options may stay on sale longer. The higher the price and the more specific the preparation of the car, the narrower the range of potential buyers. It is noted that ads for the sale of such cars gain a lot of views, get into favorites more often, and the depth of interest in them is noticeably higher.

The day before, it was reported that during March 2026, prices for new cars changed for ten brands officially represented on the Russian market. Seven car companies raised their prices, while the rest lowered them.
