The United States cannot challenge Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, even with all its military might. This was announced on April 1 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

"The passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz is currently controlled by Tehran. This is an objective reality that, no matter how much they would like it, even the United States cannot challenge, despite all the military power they have accumulated in the Middle East and the Indian Ocean," Zakharova said.

She noted that any initiatives on the regime of navigation in the Strait should be implemented only with the consent of the riparian countries. According to her, the interests of the missing party should also be taken into account.

On the same day, CNN said that Iran's continued control of the Strait of Hormuz after the end of the war would be regarded by the world community as a strategic failure by the United States. It is noted that in this scenario, Iran will try to "monetize its new position" by imposing duties on tankers traveling through the strait.

The day before, Trump announced that after the completion of the US operation in Iran, the Strait of Hormuz would open automatically. He noted that the conflict will not last long. According to the president, the US army is close to "completely destroying" all targets in Iran, although "there is still work to destroy their offensive potential."
