US President Donald Trump said that the Iranian authorities allegedly appealed to Washington with a request for a cease-fire. He wrote about this on April 1 in his Truth Social network.

"The president of the new Iranian regime, much less radical and much more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States for a cease—fire!" the American leader wrote.

According to Trump, consideration of this issue is possible only after the normalization of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
