"The funeral will take place at the Slavyansk Cemetery in Krasnodar on April 4," the organization told TASS.
Koksharov became one of the most decorated handball players in the country's history. As a member of the Russian national team, he won the Olympic gold medal in 2000 and the bronze in 2004. He has won gold and silver at the World Championships, as well as a silver medal at the European championships.
Koksharov's death at the age of 51 was reported the day before. Then Olympic champion Vladimir Maksimov noted that the cause of the athlete's death could be a stroke.
