- The official poster and trailer for the family comedy "Grandfather Fomich" has been released
The film company NMG Kinoprokat (part of the National Media Group holding) and GKS–MEDIA presented the official poster and trailer for the family comedy "Grandfather Fomich", which will be released on July 2, 2026.
Grandfather, daughter and son, grandchildren — three generations of the same family find themselves under the same roof for the first time in a long time. It would seem that fate itself throws up the perfect chance to forget old differences. But when a whole brood of relatives with different personalities, habits and views on life gather in one space, the peace of the father's house is only a dream. Adventurous Konstantin Fomich will have to become the main peacemaker, show miracles of wit and prove that even after years, loved ones still have a chance to hear each other.
"Grandfather Fomich" is a light family comedy in which humor, nostalgia and recognizable life situations are intertwined. History shows that even after years, loved ones still have a chance to hear each other, even if in the most unexpected way.
Honored Artist of Russia Nikolai Dobrynin played Fomich in the present, and Nikita Kologrivy embodied his image in the retrospective scenes. His children are Andrei Merzlikin and Ekaterina Volkova. Representatives of the younger generation were played by Gleb Kalyuzhny, Arina Shelobanova, Kristina Korbut, Alexander Novikov and blogger Anya Pokrov. Artyom Mikhalkov, Yulia Sules, Sergey Stepin and other actors are also involved in the film.
Nikolai Dobrynin notes that his character is a sincere man, and in some ways even resembles the actor himself: "Fomich is different: good, with a sense of humor. A person who can always help. It was very easy for me to play it, because it's me somewhere. I was striving for great sincerity."
The film was directed by Garik Petrosyan and Grigory Sukhov. Grigory also co-wrote the script with Olga Dorn. Gleb Kalyuzhny became the creative producer of the project.
An adventurous grandfather dreams of establishing relationships with his children and grandchildren. In order to gather everyone under one roof, he pretends to be terminally ill. And although reconciliation turns out to be not as easy as he expected, Fomich is not one of those who give up. When things get hopelessly bad, he "pulls out of his sleeve" a backup plan that works. Well... almost.
