Avalanche danger declared in Sakhalin region

An avalanche danger has been declared in three districts of the Sakhalin Region. Unfavorable conditions will persist on April 2 and 3.

According to SakhalinMedia news agency, snowfall is possible in Uglegorsky, Dolinsky districts and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Forces and means are prepared to eliminate possible emergencies. The situation is monitored by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In February, an avalanche descended in the village of Arkhyz in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. Two houses and a car were covered with snow. The people who were caught in the avalanche were quickly pulled out of the snow, they did not need medical help.
