The number of drivers with the maximum CTP discount has increased in Russia

Since April 1, when the annual recalculation of the bonus-malus coefficient in CTP took place, the number of drivers with its minimum value has increased. Now, drivers with a BMD below 1 account for 93.8% of all drivers in the country. This was stated by the head of the National Insurance Information System (NSIS) Nikolay Galushin, the press service of the operator reports in its Telegram channel.

The share of the lowest KBM (0.46) accounts for 46.67% of drivers, a year earlier this share was 42.44% (an increase in absolute figures of more than 1.5 million drivers).

The share of drivers with MBR above 1.17 (this value is automatically set for novice drivers) has also increased compared to last year. The number of such motorists is 289 thousand people, which is 0.74% of 100% of drivers.

In total, since 2023, the share of the most accident-free drivers (with a KBM of 0.46) has increased from 31.63% to 46.67% (in 2026), and the number of such motorists exceeds 18.2 million people, the NSIS estimates.

KBM is the coefficient in CTP, which affects its cost. It is updated once a year on April 1 and, depending on the presence or absence of accidents caused by the driver, either gives a price supplement or a discount.

According to statistics from the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), the least number of car owners with the maximum discount for accident-free driving is recorded in the Republic of Dagestan (9%). The second place is occupied by the Republic of Ingushetia (12.7%), followed by the Republic of Tyva (15.3%).

Starting from April 1, half of Russian drivers will have a minimum CTP coefficient.

The Bank of Russia proposed to reduce the territorial coefficient for CTP in the Novosibirsk region, the draft instruction of the Central Bank was published on March 19. It was emphasized that the revision of the indicators was made possible by strengthening measures to combat fraud and unfair actions in the CTP in this region.
