Representatives of the United Nations (UN) secretariat deliberately avoid interacting with Russia over the provocation in the city of Bucha in Ukraine. This was announced on April 1 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat stressed that Moscow has repeatedly appealed to the leadership of the organization with a request to help obtain a list of names of people whose bodies were shown in the footage of the "Western" media. However, no responses have been received.

"We have every reason to believe that the UN secretariat deliberately avoids constructive interaction with the Russian side, thereby violating the established practice of cooperation with states in the interests of the administration of justice," Zakharova said at a briefing.

The Russian Foreign Ministry demands that the UN stop covering up the Ukrainian staging of the Butch and contribute to a thorough investigation of this provocation. The ministry regards the visit of representatives of the European Union (EU) countries to Bucha, which took place on March 31, as a self-exposure of the staging of Kiev and its Western curators.

"Such an approach cannot suit us, and in this regard, we continue to demand at all levels that the United Nations abandon its unconstructive line, stop covering up the Ukrainian staging and finally contribute to a thorough investigation of the bloody provocation in Bucha," the diplomat said.

On March 18, Zakharova also pointed out that the upcoming EU sanctions against Russian citizens allegedly involved in the events in Bucha are a crazy ritual and a mockery of common sense. Moscow has repeatedly rejected accusations of involvement in the tragedy in Bucha, calling them a provocation.

On November 25, 2025, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the UN's refusal to provide data on the incident in Bucha was tantamount to a confession and was a "disgrace" to the organization. The head of the department criticized the Western media for creating Russophobic materials without evidence and expressed Russia's readiness for dialogue with representatives of the United Nations and the Red Cross.
