A new waste management scheme will be introduced in the Murmansk Region
A draft of a new territorial waste management scheme is being finalized in the Murmansk Region. The document is being prepared by the regional Ministry of Energy and Housing and Communal Services.
The scheme includes targets until 2035, a list of existing and planned facilities, as well as the structure of waste streams. It is needed to organize the collection, processing, transportation, disposal, neutralization and burial of garbage.
An electronic model in the federal state information system for municipal solid waste accounting will be attached to the new document. It contains data on sources of education, places of accumulation, tariffs, capital investments, and transportation routes.
The agency plans to send the draft for public discussion by April 17. The duration of the open discussion will be 20 working days.
According to Bi-port news agency, the current waste management scheme was approved in the Murmansk region in 2016. Currently, the region is one of the 30 subjects of Russia that have not updated the document.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that the regions need to switch to a new procedure for calculating waste accumulation standards for residential buildings approved by the government by July 1, 2027. Now they are allowed to use the method of comparative analysis rather than measurements.
