Two people died in the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on Vasilyevka
An elderly woman and a 12-year-old girl were killed when the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck an apartment building in Vasilevka, Zaporizhia region. This was announced on Wednesday, April 1, by Governor Evgeny Balitsky.
"In the city of Vasilyevka, rescuers pulled one dead person out from under the rubble. This is a woman born in 1935. <...> The body of a 12-year-old child was recovered from the rubble in Vasilevka, the girl died as a result of an enemy attack on an apartment building," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.
The head of the region clarified that the attack was carried out by Ukrainian militants that night. Four people were also injured in the incident, including one minor born in 2022. All the wounded received medical assistance. Representatives of emergency and operational services are involved at the scene of the tragedy.
Balitsky stressed that he was in contact with the administration of the Vasilyevsky district and authorized persons, and also expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces saw and realized where they were striking.
"The enemy saw and understood who he was targeting, and deliberately targeted civilians. This is a blatant crime that is peculiar only to the Ukrainian regime. <...> They are unable to come out as equals and therefore they are hunting civilians, women, and children," he concluded.
On March 28, Balitsky reported the death of a girl born in 2000 during an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a civilian car in the village of Burchak, Mikhailovsky municipal district, Zaporizhia region. The head of the region clarified that the spouse of the deceased and her child were also injured as a result of the incident.
