The Supreme Court of Russia has approved the verdict of journalist Alexander Skobov (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent), convicted of justifying terrorism and participating in a terrorist community. This was announced on April 1 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

It is noted that the constitutional complaints of the defender were left without satisfaction.

Skobov repeatedly posted information on the Internet, as well as on the website of the organization Forum of Free Russia (recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation), in which he was a member of the council, justifying the commission of terrorist acts, and called for illegal activities.

In addition, he disseminated false information about Russian politics and opposed the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine.

In March 2025, the First Western District Military Court in St. Petersburg sentenced Skobov to 16 years in prison and a fine of 300,000 rubles, banning him from managing websites and channels for four years.

In February, the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg sentenced a resident of the Chelyabinsk Region to six years in prison for justifying terrorism. It was noted that the court sentenced the man to six years of imprisonment in a general regime colony, and also deprived him of the right to administer websites for three years.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
