Russian troops have firmly seized the initiative on the ground in the conflict with Ukraine, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said on April 1 on the sidelines of the Russian-Uzbek conference of the Valdai Club and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.

The diplomat noted that the Kiev regime had problems and still have problems, and they will worsen even more in the future.

"Because if we talk about the situation on the ground, the Russian armed forces are advancing in all directions, they firmly and confidently own the strategic initiative. So Kiev should understand that the more time passes, the tougher the terms of the final settlement will be for them," TASS quoted the deputy minister as saying.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on March 31 that the dynamics on the fronts indicates the widespread advance of Russian troops, which is confirmed not only by Russian experts, but also by foreign ones. Against this background, the Kiev regime feels uncomfortable.

Therefore, it would be better for President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, who proposed the idea of an Easter truce, to make a decision on the final cessation of the conflict, said the press secretary of the Russian leader.
