- The fighter of the Sun Russia shot down five UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a "Christmas tree" in a day
In one day, a Russian Yelka interceptor drone shot down five drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 1 by Matvey Ryapolov, a serviceman of the 838th anti-aircraft missile Division of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group.
"Yesterday, the Yelka interceptor drone shot down five enemy UAVs. They destroyed the Baba Yaga, two FPV drones and two attack UAVs. The interceptions took place at distances of up to one km," Ryapolov told RIA Novosti.
The soldier added that the air surveillance post is also equipped with a portable Igla-10 anti-aircraft missile system and a heavy machine gun. In the case of a mass drone attack, a machine gun is used, and both a "Christmas tree" and MANPADS are used for single targets.
On March 31, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry told how Private Fadis Salikhov conducted aerial reconnaissance using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and identified the location of an armored personnel carrier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Salikhov transmitted the coordinates to the command and adjusted the artillery fire on the target.
