The United States is working to get Ukraine to agree to compromise with Russia. This was announced on April 1 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin on the sidelines of the Russian-Uzbek Valdai Club conference.

"We proceed from the need to conduct a dialogue within the framework of this trilateral format based on the mutual understanding that was reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump during their summit meeting in Alaska on August 15 last year," he said.

Galuzin noted that the United States had proposed certain compromise ideas, which Russia accepted and agreed to. He also clarified that the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, declared his unwillingness to withdraw troops from the territories of Donbass.

"And now the task is for the Americans to get the Ukrainian side to agree to these proposals. As we understand it, the American side is currently conducting such work with Kiev," Galuzin stressed.

On March 31, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation noted that due to the escalation in the Middle East, negotiations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine on a settlement are "on pause." The diplomat noted that it is important not only the regularity or frequency of the rounds, but also the substance of the agenda. He stressed that Russia remains open to a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis.

On March 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recalled that the "spirit of Anchorage" was still preserved in the issue of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but Europe and NATO were trying to undermine specific agreements with the United States.
