The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to raise the salaries of teachers of art schools

Deputies of the LDPR faction want to equalize the salaries of teachers of cultural institutions with teachers of secondary schools. The party's leader Leonid Slutsky addressed such a proposal in a letter to the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, Izvestia got acquainted with the letter.

"Teachers of children's art schools cultivate talents, form tastes, and work to preserve and develop our great cultural tradition, which is internationally recognized. The Liberal Democratic Party insists that there must be a single, understandable and fair remuneration mechanism. If the workload and responsibility of teachers are comparable, then the salary should be at the same level," Slutsky said.

Such an initiative will help preserve and strengthen the human resources potential of the industry, as well as improve the quality of art education for the younger generation, the letter says.

There is an acute shortage of specialists in the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions.

On March 30, Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Maritime Board, proposed increasing teachers' salaries from 2027. Patrushev noted that the poor quality of education of schoolchildren in some areas is due to the lack of specialized teachers. The main reason remains the low salary of teachers, but it is planned to increase it only in 2028.
