- The State Duma proposed adding information about psychiatric disorders to the dispensary cards.
In Russia, information about mental disorders, as well as some diagnoses such as prediabetes, obesity and osteoporosis, can be added to medical records. This was announced on April 1 by the head of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Sergei Leonov.
"The Ministry of Health has prepared amendments to the order on the record card for preventive medical examination. According to the amendments, medical records may include information about diagnoses such as prediabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, risk of falls and mental disorders," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
It is specified that in this regard, the table of risk factors and conditions identified during the medical examination that increase the likelihood of chronic non-communicable diseases will include graphs on the likelihood of falls, fractures, cognitive impairments and other problems.
At the same time, according to Leonov, the information in the medical records remains a medical secret. This information is necessary for systematic monitoring of patients' health and timely identification of risks.
On February 26, the State Duma announced that the rules for psychiatric examination would change in March. It is noted that the examination of an employee should be carried out by a commission of psychiatrists, and not by one specialist. Not all employees should be examined, only if signs of a mental disorder are detected during a mandatory periodic medical examination.
