Reuters reported on the abduction of a foreign journalist in Iraq

A foreign journalist was abducted in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on March 31.

"The police reported that she (the journalist — Ed.) was detained by four men in civilian clothes and taken away by car. The search is focused on the eastern part of the capital, where the abductors' car was heading," the article says.

The Interior Ministry did not disclose the woman's nationality. According to Reuters, the stolen woman has an American passport.

Radio KAN reported on July 5, 2023, that Israeli Elizaveta Tsurkov, who holds Russian citizenship, was abducted in Iraq. According to the Israeli magazine The Cradle, Tsurkov was abducted from her home in the Karrada neighborhood of Baghdad on March 26.
