The Russian Embassy in Warsaw has handed over to the Hermitage a letter from Russian archaeologist Alexander Butyagin, who was arrested in Poland at the request of Ukraine. This was announced on March 21 by the museum's press service in the Telegram channel.

"I want to inform you that I feel good and I'm not experiencing any problems right now, except for the fact that I'm here. I am sad to be away from the Hermitage," the archaeologist wrote.

In the letter, the scientist also thanks his colleagues for their help and support. He noted that his soul continues to be at the Hermitage among like-minded people.

"The Hermitage is proud of Alexander Butyagin's courage and hopes for his speedy release," the museum's press service commented on the letter.
