The expert named the skills necessary for service personnel in the labor market
Line staff are currently highly valued for reliability, responsibility, discipline and high-quality performance of their duties. Tatiana Vanina, Financial Director of Danila-Master, told Izvestia about this on March 31.
"Reliability, responsibility, discipline and high-quality performance of their duties are especially appreciated today. It is important for an employer that a person does not just go on a shift, but is involved in the work, understands the importance of his contribution to the overall result and is ready to perform tasks in good faith," Vanina said.
According to her, willingness to learn and develop is becoming increasingly important. Companies are interested in investing in employees, especially if the specifics of production or operational activities require additional knowledge and skills. Careful attitude to the workplace, respect for colleagues, teamwork and internal motivation to do a good job are also important.
"It is these employees that companies strive to retain for a long time, because the quality of processes and business stability are based on them," the expert emphasized.
Vanina added that the growth prospects of the line staff remain, and in many ways they depend on the employee himself — on his willingness to learn, take on more responsibility and improve his efficiency. In modern conditions, career growth is not only a transition to the next position, but also professional development within its function.
"Even in a linear position, a person can grow as a specialist: better understand processes, work faster and better, offer more effective solutions, and reduce waste of time and resources. This is very valuable for the company. It is from such employees that the personnel reserve is often formed for more responsible positions," she noted.
In addition, the expert said that the issue of remuneration for operational personnel today is directly related not only to competition for personnel, but also to the total cost of living. Responsible employers increasingly believe that wages should not be formal, but really decent — one that allows a person to calmly cover basic life needs and feel stable.
"When forming a wage system, companies are guided by the situation on the local market, the dynamics of the cost of living and changes in consumer spending. This is especially important in an environment where quality staff is becoming an increasingly scarce resource. In the coming year, employers who are committed to retaining people and team stability will continue to closely monitor employee income levels and adjust their approaches to maintain staff competitiveness and loyalty," Vanina said.
At the same time, she clarified that over the past year, the approach to mass hiring has changed significantly: companies have begun to look at line staff not as a temporary resource "for closing shifts," but as an important part of a stable operational team. Today, employers are much more attentive to assessing not only the current need for people, but also how well a candidate will be able to adapt, learn and develop within the company.
On the same day, Igor Ivanov, a political scientist and researcher of political communications, assessed the concerns of company employees about the replacement of artificial intelligence (AI). According to him, artificial intelligence does not replace employees, but increases their productivity: it takes on routine tasks and frees up resources for analysis, decision-making, idea generation and professional growth.
