A criminal case has been opened in Moscow against a 15-year-old teenager suspected of committing crimes under Articles 167 and 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional destruction or damage to property" and "Hooliganism"). This was reported on March 31 in the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The investigation found that on March 30, 2026, while at a gas station on Cosmonaut Volkov Street, a teenager set fire to a fuel pump. He threw a flammable liquid on the pump and set it on fire with a lighter, after which he fled the scene.

"As soon as possible, the investigators of the capital's Investigative Committee and operational staff identified and detained the suspect," the agency said in a statement on the MAX messenger.

As it turned out during the interrogation, the teenager said that on March 25 he was contacted by unknown persons who introduced themselves as Russian security forces. They stated that he was cooperating with the Ukrainian special services and was accused of committing a serious crime. They demanded to conduct a "video search" and take part in the operation.

Earlier in the day, Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, said that a teenager suspected of setting fire to a gas station in the north of the city had been detained in Moscow. The police detained the teenager four hours later. According to preliminary data, he committed arson at the direction of an unknown messenger who threatened his family.
