The cost of land plots for burials in the capital's cemeteries may exceed 200 thousand rubles per 1 square meter. m, however, it is impossible to register the land as property. Maria Denisova, a lawyer at the Land Law Firm, reported this in a conversation with Izvestia.

According to the law, land plots for burial are provided to citizens free of charge or on the basis of a contract for a fee on the right of use. In Moscow, a contract for the placement of a burial site is concluded through GBU Ritual based on the results of an electronic auction with the highest bidder.

"The amount of the fee is influenced by the prestige of the cemetery, the area of the plot and its proximity to the entrance to the cemetery, roads, funeral infrastructure and religious buildings. For example, the size of only the base rate for 1 sq. m. The price at the Vagankovsky cemetery ranges from 195,000 to 202,170 rubles," the lawyer said.

In addition, a place in a cemetery is not an object of inheritance. Instead, responsibility for burial is being re-registered. According to Denisova, in practice, the person who organized the funeral of the deceased often becomes responsible. Re—registration is possible during the lifetime of the responsible person with the consent of the new person, after the death of the responsible person - at the request of the successor or another person indicated in the certificate, as well as, in exceptional cases, through the court.
