Bolshoi Ballet dancer shares the secret of Russian ballet's success
The secret of the phenomenon of "Russian ballet", which is so much appreciated abroad, lies in its flawlessly honed technique. This opinion was shared on March 31 by People's Artist of Russia, Prima Ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Svetlana Zakharova.
"A soulful flight. It's just about the Russian school. Sometimes even the emotions of Russian artists capture so much that they do not pay attention to anything. And as I say, you really need to dance, giving yourself completely with your soul, with the mood, with the right presentation, and then the whole technique will work by itself. And this distinguishes us, of course, Russians, from many other schools," the ballerina said in an interview with Channel Five.
Zakharova also congratulated the Bolshoi Theatre on its 250th anniversary and noted that it will never grow old, as new young dancers enter its stage every year.
The Bolshoi Theatre, which celebrated its 250th anniversary on March 28, has returned to the audience Giuseppe Verdi's opera Othello, which was performed on the legendary stage more than 40 years ago. In just two and a half centuries, more than 800 performances have been staged in the country's main theater.
