The American leadership does not intend to rule out any of the options for the development of the conflict, including conducting a full-scale ground operation. This was announced on March 31 by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, during a briefing.

"And I also said from this rostrum that we are not going to rule out any option...> including a ground operation," he said.

According to General Dan Kane of the United States Air Force, the capabilities of the American armed forces are not limited to a land invasion. The military commander stressed that the range of military measures that the US army is ready to offer in the confrontation with Tehran is extremely extensive.

The New York Times (NYT) newspaper on March 29, citing American military sources, said that several hundred US special forces had arrived in the Middle East, but so far they do not have clear tasks. The special forces joined the 2.5 thousand Marines and 2.5 thousand sailors who are already in the region.

At the same time, the chairman of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said at the same time that representatives of the United States, who publicly send signals to Iran with an alleged invitation to negotiations on a settlement, are actually secretly planning a ground operation in the Islamic Republic.
