Experts discussed the accessibility of transportation of children in transport

In Russia, a high degree of accessibility of transportation services for families with children in various modes of transport is already provided. This conclusion was reached by experts at a round table in the Izvestia press center dedicated to the development of transport infrastructure and measures to support families with children.

The participants of the round table discussed current benefits, problem areas and prospects for creating a friendly environment for passengers with children, from aviation and railways to taxis and toll roads. The experts' proposals will be sent to the parliamentary corps for further implementation.

The main thing in transporting passengers with children is accessibility, information from the state and safety, says Valery Goryukhanov, a member of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure. Awareness refers, among other things, to various educational projects, for example, the "School for the Safety of Small Passengers," which has been implemented since October 2025 in conjunction with the traffic police, he explained. for small passengers, for example, the "Small Passenger Safety School" project, he explained. In addition, Goryukhanov stressed that in the context of transporting children, the regularity and clarity of transport links for such families is extremely important, as well as the consistency of the changes carried out by the state.

Natalia Karpovich from the Association of Large Families in Moscow noted the need to create social taxi companies in the regions. The speaker advocated the introduction of a family taxi by analogy with a social one: "Today there are all information, electronic, and digital tools that would allow these services to be established." In addition, the expert supported the idea of allowing the use of maternity capital for the purchase of a spacious car for a large family.

All proposals formulated by the participants of the round table will be sent to the deputies for further implementation.
