- Stas Namin's stepson was sentenced to 18 years in a penal colony for a double murder. The main thing
The Moscow Regional Court sentenced Roman Tkachenko to 18 years in a penal colony for the murder of his grandmother and stepbrother in the Moscow region. All the details are in the Izvestia article.
The court's decision
The Moscow Regional Court found Roman Tkachenko guilty of murdering two people. The man was sentenced to 18 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony. The relevant decision was announced in the courtroom on March 31.
Earlier, during the debate between the parties, the prosecutor insisted on imposing a sentence of 20 years in prison, considering the defense's arguments about the state of passion unfounded.
The circumstances of the crime
The murder occurred in October in the village of Kryukovo, Moscow region. The bodies of a pensioner and her 30-year-old grandson with stab wounds were found in a private house. The victims turned out to be the mother-in-law and son of rock musician Stas Namin. According to investigators, the conflict between the relatives arose because of the sale of the house.
During the quarrel, Roman Tkachenko dealt with his grandmother, after which he reported what he had done to his stepbrother. When he arrived at the scene, Tkachenko killed him too. Later, the man himself called the law enforcement agencies and confessed to the crime. Investigators seized a knife and a hammer at the scene.
The position of the defense and the condition of the convict
Tkachenko's defense insisted on the reclassification of the case, arguing that he acted in a state of passion. The lawyer stated that his client had suffered from loneliness for many years and could have mental disorders, including a split personality. Tkachenko himself claimed in court that at the time of the massacre he was acting on behalf of his alter ego named Zera.
The convict's mother also spoke in court, linking her son's condition to the difficult atmosphere in the family and personal problems.
"It's my fault that I connected my life with a very cruel man. Roma's psyche is fragile, he had problems, they worsened," she said.
Psychiatric examination and admission of guilt
Despite the arguments of the lawyers about the fragile psyche and suffered concussions, the results of the medical examinations did not confirm the presence of mental disorders in the defendant. Experts have established that at the time of the murders, Tkachenko was sane and fully aware of his actions.
During his last speech, the defendant fully admitted his guilt. At the back of the court, Roman Tkachenko fell to his knees and burst into tears. The court rejected the defense's request for a second psychiatric examination.
