Russian skier Korostelev named the key reason for the superiority of the Norwegians
Norwegian skiers benefit because they have found a very good lubricant and have been practicing it for several years. This was announced on March 31 by Russian skier Savely Korostelev.
"The Norwegians, as many people have said, have found options [lubricants] that work very well in severe weather, and no one can compete with them. They have succeeded in applying lubricants and tests. They've been skiing there for four years, and we're here. There is a big gap," Korostelev said in an interview with Match TV.
At the same time, the athlete noted that the level of ski processing in Russia has also increased. According to him, the equipment of Russian athletes in Falun was better prepared than that of the Norwegians.
On March 1, Korostelev took fourth place in skiathlon at the eighth stage of the World Cup in Falun, Sweden. The winner of the race was Norwegian Johannes Klebo, who covered 20 km in 48 minutes and 41.8 seconds.
