On March 31, Russian opera singer Aida Garifullina, in an interview with Izvestia, expressed confidence in the longevity of opera art and the continued interest in it from connoisseurs around the world.

The actress shared the details of the recent premiere of the play "Eugene Onegin" at Milan's La Scala Theater (Italy), where she performed the role of Tatiana. The singer noted that she had been preparing for this role for a long time, considering it necessary to achieve vocal and acting maturity in order to understand such a complex image.

"The premiere took place in Italy at the La Scala Theater, and an entirely Italian audience gathered there. And the full Russian cast," she noted.

According to the performer, the production was carried out by an Italian film director, previously nominated for an Oscar, who presented a modern interpretation of the classic plot. The musical direction was provided by Russian conductor Timur Zangiev, and the soloists consisted exclusively of compatriots. Despite the relevant reading of the material, the local audience met the performance with great interest.

The artist called the performance of the Russian opera on the leading European stage a special event that emphasizes the importance of Russian art, regardless of the current global situation. She stressed that performing in Italy always causes excitement due to the demanding audience, who consider themselves experts in the opera genre. According to the singer, the decision to present a Russian work made it possible to fully demonstrate to the audience the breadth of the national soul.

On January 26, the premiere of "Eugene Onegin" by composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky took place at the Paris National Opera (Grand Opéra). A French citizen named Augustin expressed a desire to share his emotions with Izvestia. So, according to the man who studies literature, philosophy and history, he was greatly impressed by the opera.
