Over 65,000 people visited Moscow Fashion Week in six days.
The sixth Moscow Fashion Week took place in the capital. It took place from March 14 to March 19 at the Manege. About 300 designers from 21 regions of Russia, as well as 4 countries: China, Turkey, Spain and Armenia presented their collections. Over 65,000 people attended the event in six days.
The participants not only demonstrated their skills, but also received real opportunities for development, from finding new business partners to entering new markets. In total, more than 80 shows were held at Moscow Fashion Week, 11 of them were conducted by students of the country's leading specialized educational institutions. More than 1,500 models participated in the event. In total, more than 2,500 images were presented.
"Moscow Fashion Week plays a big role in the development of the industry in Russia. This is the only professional platform where talented, young designers show their collections along with already well-known brands. It is important that Russia has an institution that supports local designers and helps organize shows," said Oleg Ovsiev, designer of the Viva Vox brand (Moscow).
"Every Moscow Fashion Week is a huge increase in direct sales, an opportunity to invite customers and friends of the brand to a show in the very center of Moscow with strong technical and informational support. It is also a flight of creative thought, imagination, the development of directing and producing skills, and invaluable experience. And for me personally, this project is also a clear time frame for working on the collection," said Evgenia Linovich, designer, founder and creative director of the Masterpeace brand (Moscow).
Many brands relied on cultural codes, philosophy, mythology, and also talked about technological progress and the world of the future. So, on the catwalks, the Russian cultural code was intertwined with cyberpunk, marine aesthetics with evening elegance, and retro-futurism with modern minimalism.
In addition, a market and showroom operated within the framework of Moscow Fashion Week, which was co-organized by the Made in Moscow project, where everyone could purchase clothes and accessories from 88 brands.
Within the framework of the VK Lecture Hall, 33 sessions were held for the guests of the event by leading industry experts: Alexander Rogov, Alexey Sukharev, Lilia Rakh, Karina Nigai, Yana Rudkovskaya, Misha and Kitty, and many others. The audience was told about trends, the fashion industry of the future, cultural codes and much more. Lectures by leading experts of the VK fashion industry Lecture Hall, as well as shows by Russian and foreign designers, will be available exclusively on the official channel of Moscow Fashion Week in VK Video.
In addition, on the final day, a collective "Made in Moscow" show was held, in which images based on goods from more than 35 Moscow clothing and accessories brands were demonstrated. Misha and Kitty were responsible for the styling.
In addition, the World Fashion Shorts short film festival was held. The audience was shown the best films from previous editions of the festival, as well as new films from partners. Films by directors from Russia, Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines and other countries were presented. Also, as part of the event, there was a public conversation with the winners of the autumn program of the festival about how designers and directors find each other.
