Kurgan has sharply tightened water quality control in Tobol. Specialists will switch to an enhanced mode of operation from April 1, the press service of the Water Union reports.

The river is the only source of the city's drinking water supply. The company's laboratory is open around the clock: samples are taken every hour, and microbiological control has been strengthened for river and tap water.

About 50 samples are taken per day and more than 300 analyzes are performed on 14 indicators, writes <url> news agency. The data is immediately sent to treatment facilities, where the dosage of reagents is promptly adjusted.

Now utilities are recording changes in water composition, which traditionally occur during floods. Some indicators decrease due to dilution, while others, such as turbidity and chromaticity, increase sharply.

Earlier it was reported that flooding in the Kurgan region is expected in the second decade of April — from the 11th to the 20th. According to the Russian Hydrometeorological Service, water can rise up to 1.5 m above normal values.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
