SpaceX's Starlink system has recorded a loss of communication with one of its 34343 satellites due to an anomaly in orbit. This was announced by Starlink on March 30.

"On Sunday, March 29, the Starlink 34343 satellite experienced an anomaly in orbit, which led to a loss of communication with the satellite at an altitude of 560 km above the Earth," reads a post on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The company stressed that the anomaly does not pose a threat to the safety of the International Space Station (ISS), its crew, or the planned launch of NASA's Artemis-2 lunar mission in the near future.

Currently, the SpaceX and Starlink teams are analyzing the data obtained to identify the root cause of the failure and prepare corrective measures.

New Scientist noted on February 26 that putting a million SpaceX satellites into orbit could threaten the state of the atmosphere and worsen space visibility. The article clarified that on January 30, the company submitted an application for the deployment of 1 million devices. This project involves the creation of orbital data centers for artificial intelligence, which significantly exceeds the current number of active satellites, amounting to 14.5 thousand units.
